Employees contribute to the overarching aims of the Office of Police Integrity, which are:

  • to ensure that the highest ethical and professional standards are maintained in Victoria Police; 
  • to ensure that police corruption and serious misconduct is detected, investigated and prevented; and 
  • to educate Victoria Police and the general community regarding police corruption and serious misconduct, including the effect of police corruption and serious misconduct; and
  • to ensure that members of Victoria Police have regard to the human rights set out in the Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities.

Security Clearance

Successful applicants will be required to satisfactorily attain and maintain a Highly Protected Security Clearance.

Occupational Health and Safety

In the context of Occupational Health and Safety policies, procedures, training and instruction, as detailed in Section 25 of the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004, employees are responsible for ensuring that they:

  • follow reasonable instruction; 
  • cooperate with their employer; and 
  • at all times, take reasonable care for the safety of others in the workplace.

Other requirements

Some positions require that the successful applicant obtain and maintain an OPI Operational Safety Tactics Qualification. These and other positions may also require the successful applicant to undertake a capability and behavioural assessment before formal appointment.
